Beautiful Katamari

cause its fun?

I enjoyed rolling over random crap in that game ad trying to make the largest katamari's possible, no idea why I liked it but I did.

It's fun. Its bizarre and unique nature only add to the fun factor, as does its straightforward gameplay. However, I don't see how anyone who hasn't ever heard of or played this before is supposed to like it after playing a 3-minute demo that leaves out all of the crazy presentation and story elements. In fact, I don't think I could get into most games after only playing a 3-minute snippet.

HAHA....I had the same reaction when I played the demo. I always heard nothing but good about it, even though it looked like you simply rolled around and collected crap. So, I downloaded and played the demo on the 360, and well I'll be damned....all you do is roll around and collect crap....to THE MOST ANNOYING music and voices ever.

Worst "cult" game ever.

My only experience so far is the demo. How is the game structured? Is every level timed? I dislike constantly feeling like I have to beat the clock, I'm more of a 'thoroughness' guy. 😛

To my knowledge, most if not all levels are timed and they aren't just "roll crap up." I remember playing with my (now ex) girlfriend in college and everyone couldn't beat this one stage where you had to roll up a ton of geese. So I was all, "gimme the 'troller!" I whipped that stage up so bad 😉.

But yeah, if I remember correctly, they're all time-based and most have objectives. The demo was simply a "see how big you can get in 3 minutes" thing, where typically you have to get a certain size using 'x' object, get a certain amount of 'x' object or just getting to a certain size.

Sounds interesting, but considering that it's right in the middle of such a huge game blitz, I can stand to wait until it hits the bargain bin.

I wondered the same thing after playing the demo. The full game might be more interesting...but it certainly is not going to get any of my time/money based on the demo.

Well, there's also some oddity based on the interaction between the Prince and the King of the Cosmos. If you have a PS2, you can check out the original games Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari. There's also a version for the PSP (Me and My Katamari I think).
