I've been playing around with it - made a dance mix blending indian pop with a dance beat, and mixing into various trance tracks. hehe

You are aware that with many styles of music, like house music(the stuff I play), scratching is generally not done? I saw Louie DeVito live(if you don't know, he one of the best DJ's on the east coast), he beatmixed all night, and did not scratch. If you are spinning a form of dance music, you beatmix all night long. n00b.

I saw Louie DeVito live(if you don't know, he one of the best DJ's on the east coast), he beatmixed all night, and did not scratch. Beatmixing on decks is one thing, but he's using a program which is quite different, hence the n00b
If you saw Louie DeVito get onstage with a laptop you would be screaming for him to get off

They don't use a program to do it though

ah...thought you were getting at something else, my bad. Some of those programs can beatmix fairly well though....but I sure as hell would never use one live.

much cooler. Optimally, if you are the DJ at a club, the best beatmix is one people don't notice. A minute or so into the second song the people on the floor are like hey new song....

Beatmixing on a computer (by ear) is like using cd decks...somewhat respectable, just dont let the computer do all the work.
