Just bought an iPod and realized how bored I was with all my CD's, so I'm looking to buy a dozen CD or so on eBay right now. I don't really know where to start though, especially with Rolling Stones. All I can find are either random CD's, or huge 20-30 CD sets of Beatles that I don't think I'd like investing $300+ right now in.

I don't want to buy "Greatest Hits" albums... so please recommend the best 6 or so Beatles and Rolling Stones albums (6-8 top Beatles albums, 6 top Rolling Stones albums)

Isn't there another 2 or 3 famous albums by the Beatles? (White Album comes to mind)

Forget the Stones. Get The Beatles:

Revolver
Rubber Soul
White Album
Let it Be
Help

Really they're all good, it just depends on which phase you like most.(early, mid, drugs/sitar, falling apart, etc.)

Really that s the most accurate way to describe it... everybody likes something different about The Beatles (and i you don't like any of them, you're just in denial ;))
