since the gold box is like the major discussion at the water cooler around here I thought I'd share some knowledge on the topic. hopefully some light will be shed on to why you're getting what you're getting in your goldbox.
first off, here's what amazon says: read the last item in the "terms and conditions" area
secondly, an acquaintance of mine has a friend that works in the amazon recommendations department out in seattle. when asked about how to choose what you get in the gold box he has the following to say:

> there. what do i get? mostly items for the kitchen. and backpacks and
> toys for my children. why? precisely because i've never shown any
