The pot/kettle irony is a reference to implying or explicitly stating something about someone while ignoring a similar trait within yourself. Obviously being called black isn't an insult in this day and age (unless you're racist), but you're debating the insulting tactics of a talking pot here. It's merely referencing the hypocrisy that we are blind to within ourselves when calling someone else out on a particular trait or behavior.

You can't have your cake and eat it too because if you eat it, you no longer have it. Admittedly, I didn't understand this one for the longest time, and I still think it's stupid, but that's the gist of it. You cannot consume something and still possess it; when it's eaten, it's gone.
