*sniff, sniff* The memories...*sniffle*

I want to say yay for the great CDs like Ill Communication and Paul's Boutique but I hate how they just think everyone will forget their coke/alcohol/female days and go with their whole free tibet world peace rubbish. They haven't produced anything with that much depth for a while.

I've never heard them say they wished people would forget those early days... in fact interviews Ive seen with them they more or less embrace it and admit that it was stupid and silly as they look back but they dont neccessarily regret it. They've gotten older... I used to do stupid things in my young age too. Do I regret it now? No... I realize it helped me evlove into who I am today... Beasties seem to take the same stance.

Ugh... the songs they are known for are a few of the most annoying sounding songs I've heard... their music can easily be replicated by any garage band (yes I think they're talentless, comparatively speaking)...

I sat in a car with a buddy of mine driving 8 hours home from school and all he played was Beastie Boys. I couldn't understand how this band became so popular. I listened to 8 hours of MetallicA on my roadtrips home when I drove. The hours flew right by.

in order to fully appreciate the beastie boys, you must
1. like funky rhythm-based music
2. have a sense of humor
3. have seen their videos

noooow heres a little story id like to tell about three bad brothers you know so well

damn the memories..paul revere and brass monkey

Funny you mention them. I just burned hello nasty to CD a week back (hadn't really listened to it in years), and was pumping the tunes in the car. A lot of the tunes on that cd are junk, but still there are some worthy ones.

I'm a pretty big Beasties fan so I had to say yay. I'm not a fan of their old punk stuff, but I've loved everything else since then. Their best album in my opinion is actualy a compilation of their best instrumentals, it's called The In Sound From Way Out. They can write a good bossa nova song too.

Yay 😀

IIIIIIIIIIIIII can't stand it, I know you planned it, Imma set it straight, this watergate....

Great band but unfortunately their whiney politics distract me from ever watching them live.

This is exactly what is making me lean towards nay...
