Denver Bronco's safety David Bruton is making $90 a day as a substitute teacher in Ohio. Along with the OP's story and this, the jaded jerk in me wonders if the NFLPA is making a concerted effort to encourage players to generate good publicity during the lockout. Still cool regardless, and the girl going to the prom will remember this act of kindness for the rest of her life, and maybe some of the act will wear off on the asshole high school students who would make fun of a girl like this.

Broncos safety David Bruton walked through the doors of his high school alma mater Friday with a new look and a new title.
Mister.
Armed with the bachelor's degree he earned from Notre Dame in 2009, Bruton has turned to substitute teaching to help fill his days in Miamisburg, Ohio, his hometown.
Bruton applied for and received a one-year substitute teacher's license from the Ohio Department of Education, clearing him to take short-term assignments in classrooms for students in kindergarten through high school.
"I'm just trying to keep busy," Bruton said, "and it's nice to be able to give back to my community."

He made something that was painful for that girl into something wonderful. Kudos to that guy, I hope he catches on for the Bears, he seems like a stand up guy.

I feel really guilty. When I read her condition was "spina bifida" I immediately thought "she's ridin' spinna's".

Probably have time to take a lot of girls to homecoming this fall since he might not be doing much else.

Wonder if the conversation went something like this:

Daughter: "Um, Daddy? You don't mind if a 22 year old guy takes me to the prom right? Oh yea, he is an African American too."

Dad: "WTF? Did I just hear you asking me to ok a 22 year old black guy to take you to the prom? Are you off your rockerchair?"

Daughter: "Oh yea, he was just drafted by the Chicago Bears, and I know you love you Football Daddy!"

Dad: "What a wonderful idea! I wonder if he can get me some tix...."

Daughter: *smooch* "I knew you would understand! Thanks Daddy!!!!"

Is that 90$ before taxes or after?
