They are so cute..hehe. I bought one sunday and have been enjoying it since. These little guys rule. Now, i cant seem to come up with a decent name. So far it looks like i will be calling it "puff", but i havent finalized it yet. Any ideas? Nothing crude please.

Haha, nice names. Im thinking about ziggy or ziegen as well. Im not exactly sure if it is a male or female, but i think it is a male.

SuperT: just curious, but do chameleons eat the same things? Crickets, superworms, vegetables(i doubt they eat mice)?? I would have gotten a chameleon, but they didnt have the jackson ones at the store.

Renob: if you feed it to your boa, then your boa better be able to handle some spikes..:):)

You did the right thing by not getting the Chameleon, IMO---they are a pain in the ass to keep. How old is your bearded dragon? The easiest way to tell males from females is the males will have much darker throat areas once they start getting mature. Sometimes you can tell the difference in the juveniles by the thickness of the tail and the head is sometimes wider.

*Puff* that rules! I've considered getting a Bearded myself. They like nice, dry, arid climates. My apartment is always very dry. Which makes it hard to keep the humidity up in my Brazilian Rainbow Boa's tank! BTW, snakes are one of my other hobbies. I used to post on the Python and Boa forums at Kingsnake.com, but havne't been there in awhile.

Anyway, the reason I haven't gotten a BD is because of what they eat; crickets. Bugs! :Q:Q:Q I HATE BUGS! I have no problem smashing the life out of hapless rodents, but can't deal w/bugs. Plus, you have to put them in a plastic bag and do the "shake and bake" with vitamin powder every time you feed, right?

Correction, i just did some more research and the book i had was wrong about cricket dusting. grrr, false information. You do need to dust their food, but only once a day..And remember to take them outside everyonce in awhile as the direct sunlight is good for them.

Those brazilian rainbow boas are sweet. As long as you keep the basking spot around 90-95, they should be okay. Once you see them eat crickets, youll have a different view about them. You might actually feel sorry...naaa. It is so cool watching him eat. He will hang on his branch and drop onto the crickets if they are under him. A good 6 inch drop and eat em. Or just watching him run across the cage to grab em. The only thing about him, is he is scared of his cool spot. He will chase crickets in there and stop at the entrance, even if they are only an inch or two inside.

anyways, i need to put mine up...its his bedtime.
