Honestly, it depends on your face. Some people look more professional with a trimmed beard and others just look like a guy with a beard.

Personally, I always trim any facial hair I have before an interview simply because I don't want to take any chances. Not many people out there have pet peeves against facial hair, but no one has a problem with a clean shave. Then again, I also would have to ask myself if I want to work with someone who is anal about such things :D

heres the thing:
say you shave the beard, get the job all is well.
but you are a beard guy.
now after starting you start gorwing the beard again
and maybe questions start being raised about your desire for beardliness.

If you shave it, the person interviewing you will have a full beard.

My bearded friend clean shaved to go to court and the judge had a full beard. :)

I wouldn't want to work for a place that wouldn't let me grow a beard anyhow. I'd just make sure it's neatly trimmed.

I go in as I would wear my facial hair every day. No point in bic'in it then having to answer the questions later when i'm unshaven.

I've been wearing one for quite a while now. It's fairly light though. Just make sure you shave your neck and trim it up. If you leave the hair on your neck it looks completely unkept.

Yes, I hate when men wear it like that. It is so disgusting. I also very much dislike long facial hair as it looks like you should have a 3.5" floppy hanging from the middle of the patch of pseudo-pubic hair. I have a beard and I keep it neat and trimmed. Any other way is simply unacceptable to me.
