All you people saying "Who cares, it's only a bear" need to wake the fsck up. There won't be any left with that mentality.

It absolutely boggles my mind how some people can basically be "anti environment" just because they've been raised to be "anti-liberal". That's fscking sick, you retards.

Do you all forget that the Earth created you AND the bears?

Be nice to the God damn planet, it really isn't that hard.

Actually I don't care because I'll be dead long before this planet is "destroyed". Yes, it's selfish but we've already established that I don't care. :)

I heard a quote before and I thought it was pretty nice (although may not be totally accurate), maybe you can take something from it.

"We don't inherit the earth from our parents, instead we borrow it from our children."

Basically, don't think that you can do anything to the earth because you think it's your home. It's the home of your children and you are just a guest. Keep your home clean and don't take advantage of it.

See, you're assuming I have children. I don't want children and neither does my fiancee...heck, I'm not even a big fan of kids (they're ok sometimes when they're fairly well behaved).

Well others (will) have children. Even people you are extremely close to. Just because you don't want children isn't an excuse. The point is, you are borrowing the earth from every single person that will ever live after you so respect their home.

You're making all the wrong assumptions about me. I don't empathize with the people that will come after me. I honestly don't give a rat's ass about the people who will follow me....not my problem, I'll be dead.

(Note: This doesn't apply for domesticated animals)
um... is that something otherly known as a dual standard?

an animal is an animal is an animal. no fvcking dog is any more human than a bear. actually i heard bears have higher intelligence too

this whole thing is turning me pro-control on the gun issue.. some people seem to hold so much agression in them its scary what they may turn into with proper type of 'stimulation'

In my opinion, that is a very poor attitude to have.

Why? What is the point? What kind of sorry ass childhood did you have to make you such a pessimist?

I really don't understand how someone can think like this, it is .. against life, or something.

Yet more disgusting anthropocentrism from many in this thread. Why all these worthless human sycophants feel they're so elevated above other animals is beyond me.

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power

Sometimes the power of superiority comes from not exerting that power on those incapable of responding. A bear presents a minute burden in your life, so why not just kill it? Pathetic.

My childhood was quite pleasant. I just don't concern myself about future generations.

Lol, I remember I had the exact same mentality several years back. It drove everyone nuts, but I basically said fvck the world and if it didn't effect me, it didn't matter. Nevermind the fact that I was going through puberty at the time.:p

Ever hear of black bear hunting. The officer's just filled there tags early this year. Hope they didnt use a pu55y handgun load on him though. Atleast a 7mm rem mag or a .300 to be 100% humane.

It's impossible to murder a bear.

It was killed.

If I go and walk into a bear den, and I get killed, I want to see bears on the bearnandtech forums talking about how I was unjustly killed.

Food chain: we're at the top.

The bear doesn't present a minute burden. It represents a real danger. The next time you're in a hospital, in the waiting room in a wheelchair and a bear wanders in looking for food, you can keep it entertained until the tranquilizer drugs kick in. By the time he's done eating your nads and your intestines, he should be feeling sleepy.

A bear in the hospital represents a danger to the people there. It would have been nice to sit down and had a discussion with the bear on why it would be advantagous for it to return to the wild but I'm don't believe the bear would have listened. In this situation I believe the appropriate action was taken. The end result could have been different. Stick bear with syringe with tranquilizer. Bear goes wild. Bear kills and injures many people. Lawyers here and lawyers there OH NO THE HORROR!!!!!!

I bet you I wouldn't come out alive if I wandered into a bear's den without any signs of aggression...

Edit - I see Chaotic posted the same scenario :D

That's what the bears say about humans when they eat us and a fellow bear raises hell. You make no sense. It's a living creature just the same.

Definition of murder
1. The unlawful killing of one human by another, especially with premeditated malice.
2. Slang. Something that is very uncomfortable, difficult, or hazardous: The rush hour traffic is murder.
3. A flock of crows. See Synonyms at flock1.

That is clearly not Murder since a bear is not a person.

Please correct your post..

Dam, it wandered into a hospital, there's no time to have a committee meeting to decide how to entice/trap/drug the dam thing. Just pop a cap in its @ss and protect the people in the hospital, who are more important to me than some bear.

Only 345lbs of Muscle, teeth and claws, next time I see a bear I'll give you a call. You can lead it away to safety from the nasty police and snuggle with it.

Poor bastard :( He didn't harm anyone and didn't display aggressive behavior.

They are not normally aggressive towards people but some have lost their fear of humans, hunting through rubbish bins and even going so far as to beg for food at the roadside

Dude..I love animals too but you must understand that any bear that comes in contact with human surroundings/food or wanders into a building is going to be a threat even after its removal. This is standard procedure.
