Well, bushmill's is from the North... though when someone gives it to me as a gift, I dont mind too much (which is why I have a half liter leftover). However, since it will be St. Patrick's Day in about 30 minutes, I plan to greet it with some Paddy's, followed by a glass of Jameson, followed by some Bushmills. Somewhere in there will be Guinness... and some Harp. Sadly, I cannot find Smithwick's in the states, because I loved that stuff while in Ireland.

Jameson is good also, I prefer Busmills though. How about Tellamore Dew? it is not bad either....third in line.. ya know Caffrey's is popular in Cincinnati and I am drinkin a Harp right now!!!

Busmills is the first isn't it? Though it is distilled in the North, it started before the Cromwell put the Scots there right?

Bushmill's original grant to distill was granted in 1608. So, yes, they predate Cromwell. I've had Tullamore Dew... like you said, its not bad. Have you ever had Paddy's? They dont export it ( 🙁 ), so you have to either go to Ireland or have someone bring some back for you. I really like it, especially as a change of pace. Black Bush is a fair improvement on regular Bushmill's. Well, I'm going to start my welcoming of Saint Patrick's Day momentarily...

Well MooKow you are only 2 hours away!! I live in Cincinnati. Speaking of Irish, I saw U2 at Nationwide Arena!!! What a classy venue, Cincy has so much catching up to do!!! They had the little bar code scanners on their fingertips as you came through the door!!! Never even damaged my ticket.

I feel sorry for people who do not have Irish blood, they will never know....................................

Used to be Jameson "10 year" for me . . . that is after a few pints of Guiness or Harp in a Dublin pub . . . I moved to Ireland immediately after graduation from High School in Cali . . . I got active in chess over there for a few years.

I guess I like islands . . . I'm in Hawaii right now . . . and I have completely given up drinking alcohol (although I might get tempted if I was in Ireland . . . Guiness in Honolulu isn't quite the same as in Dublin.

How does that compare to regular Jameson? I've been meaning to get some, but havent managed it yet.
