they are also known as wieners and beans here in Canada.

It's one of my favourite budget meals as a kid and I still make it from time to time, usually with homemade baked beans.

it really brings back memories from when I was a kid. My dad would make it for us on a boring Sunday night and we'd watch TV together while eating.

😛

I keep some cheapo hotdogs in the freezer, and beans in the cabinet for exactly that. They're cheap, quick, and pretty tasty.

We call them beans and weenies. It's been a while since I've had them but it does sound good now that you've brought it up. Plus I love homemade baked beans.

My step dad liked to make hotdogs and spaghetti/tomato sauce. And he used to like those Van Camps Pork N Beans, but strangely no hotdogs and beans.

Boy, that's a childhood memory. Somebody made beans n franks in a can (maybe Campbells?) and it was one of my favorite lunches. Mom always had those and Spagehtti-o's on hand.

Still love baked beans, but I can't remember the last time I had beans n franks. Now I just use them as a side dish for stuff like burgers or ribs.

We always have a can of Campbells pork n beans in the pantry. Usually I eat them, nobody else in the house likes beans, to finish off the mismatch of hot dogs and buns.

What a coincidence seeing this thread. Being today was a cheat day, I just ate some pork and beans: four cut-up Nathan's bun-length skinless hot dogs and a 28 ounce can of Bush baked beans.

When I get these I like to get a loaf of french bread. Good for soaking the rest up out of the pan too (I never use a bowl).
