Bean Bag Chair Type Seat?

Someone once told me you can sit at a desk with a bean bag or bouncy ball chair or something instead of a normal chair and it helps your posture/abs/etc. fairly unknowingly.

Do these things actually exist?

I've heard about the swiss balls, but I've never seen them used that way. Most of the time I see them people are getting hurt by their friends.

I don't think a bean bag chair would work, unless it's very firm, but yes, the exercise ball type thing is very good for your posture.

Your spine is supported by your core muscles (abs, obliques, back), and sitting on a moving object without supports (i.e. chair arm and or back) forces your muscles to support you. This constant work helps keep your core muscles strong and in turn helps your posture, which leads to better spine health.

I wouldn't jump right into using the ball as your go-to chair at first though, the amount of work it takes to sit like that for an extended period of time is a lot more than you may think. An easier solution may be to just sit on the front of your chair and sit straight up, like a musician.

I bought a couple of the big bouncy balls from Meijer and use those for chairs/footstools/messing with the cats. Best $5 I ever spent.

Yes, I just use an exercise ball. You can also get an Exercise Ball Chair.

Now that I could see as comfortable. However trying to use an exercise ball as a normal chair is awful! My mom uses that for her computer and I can't stand sitting on it for long amounts of time.
