I've got the Abit BE6-II (version 1) I've tried the methods at bp6.com and littlewhitedog.com to get the HighPoint366 UDMA66 controller to function under Win2000, but it won't work. I've started with a fresh install, and I've got the drivers loaded, but whenever I try to boot from the device I get an error about NTLDR not present or something to that effect. Has anyone got this combo working? Could you offer me some help. This is really starting to get to me.

Hi,
I am using be6-2 mobo with quantum LM harddrive running ata66 with no problem .... did youinstall the hightpoint driver before you setting up your win2k? Before setting up win2k, it will ask you for scsi devices ...you should install that before setting up anything. I dont know will that help you because i dont really know wats your problem is ... so i jsut tell you wat i know . Go and get the lattest bios update..

Yes before you even get to the partition/formatting part of setting up Win2K pay attention for a message that says something along the lines of "Press F6 now to load SCSI drivers" - and you need to have the Highpoint drivers on a floppy, and install them TWICE (one for each controller).

If you already did this then sorry!

Thanks guys, I did this, but it turns out it was a problem with having another hard drive in my system. So I disconnected it, and started from scratch, and it worked. That makes like the 5th time I tried to install Win2K on this machine. You should have seen the victory dance I did around my room when it finally worked!
