BE6-II and Win2000, problems with UDMA66

I've got the Abit BE6-II (version 1) I've tried the methods at bp6.com and littlewhitedog.com to get the HighPoint366 UDMA66 controller to function under Win2000, but it won't work. I've started with a fresh install, and I've got the drivers loaded, but whenever I try to boot from the device I get an error about NTLDR not present or something to that effect. Has anyone got this combo working? Could you offer me some help. This is really starting to get to me.
