I don't know really. It has been a while since I had a 9800pro but those were the general troubleshooting steps. The 9800pro was my last vid card. It got stepped on and I sent it to M4H to make keychains with. I use onboard now.

Just thought I'd give my .02 in hopes it might help.

Edit 2: How are the voltages and settings?

Good question for generic mystery problems: what's your powersupply?

( I didn't check if anybody asked that already, but for tech support in OT this is the best you're going to get out of me 😉 )

not very flash i'm afraid (generic 380w with 8A on the 12v rail)

i'm just not convinced it's the problem, based on the fact it only happens in some games,
and in 3dmark05 the games tests all corrupt majorly, but the feature tests wont 😛

runs PoP fine a 1280 with everything turned up, bit doesnt run farcry at 1024 medium..etc etc (more details in GH)

🙁

8A on 12V and you don't think it's a problem :Q

duuuude, a solid PSU is one of the most important parts to a system.

Spend $50 and get a decent one.

i know its a POS 😛

but i really can't afford to do sh!t about it atm...and going on what i'm seeing i really don't think it's the PSU...you agree/no?

You've tested the ram and CPU with memtest/prime.

Am I reading this right that you had a 9800pro that developed artifacting problems, you RMA-ed it, and the new card does it too?

If that's the case I have to suspect it's some other piece of hardware and powersupply is a prime suspect. Different programs have different demands on your system.

Have you tried a fresh install of windows? (again, too lazy to check for that again)
