Hi All,

I'm putting together a build consisting of the following:

4790k
Gigabyte 970 mini
Samsung 512GB SSD
Fractal Design Node 304

I would like the system to run as quietly as possible.

I have two PSUs on hand to use (and I must use one of the two):

1.be quiet! Straight Power 10 600W
2.EVGA SuperNOVA 750G2 80PLUS Gold

Which of the two would be the most silent running PSU at load?

Many Thanks

Based on data (subject to variation due to different measurement procedures used) from several reviews of these two PSU's, it appears that the Be Quiet PSU may be slightly quieter than the EVGA PSU.

The Be Quiet PSU also performs quite well. However, there is concern about reliability due to some lower grade components used.

The EVGA PSU performs very well. And due to higher grade components used, it should be more reliable than the Be Quiet PSU. The only minor issue is that the fan may be slightly noisier than the Be Quiet fan.

I *think* from reviews that your power usage (approx 300 watt peak) will be low enough that the evga will run fairly quiet. At 400 watt the evga (from reviews) seem to heat up a bit and genereate more fan noise.

Hi guys!

Thanks for your help. I went with the beQuiet PSU as it was more compact. The system runs silently under most use cases with only the Gigabyte 970 becoming audible while gaming.

Overall I'm pretty happy with it.
