Too tall.

I guess it needs to be tall to hold: 3 hard drives(80x2 in raid 0)(80 gig back up), 6800 gt, antec 550 watt ps, xp2600(oc to 2.4 ghz) 2x mushkin bh6, escalade raid card, 4 tt smartfans at full blast, and one vantec tornado.

You must be excited about the new raid technology.

But the new raid technology = speed and backup, if I am not mistaken. Hence your proposed excitement.

Raid technology is not "new". What you speak of is raid 5. I have Raid 0, plus a backup drive.

What I'm talking about isn't out yet. It's in the future. Hence, new.
But I'm going off what a friend of mine told me, so whatever. You may be right. So be it.

Lesson for you:

Raid 0: two drives used as 1, striping

Raid 1: two drives, but redundant, mirroring

Raid 5: three drives, with striping AND redundancy, mirror+striping

I dare not, as the fan boys would come out of the woodwork, and the flames would be rampant.

Indeed. Wasn't entirely serious.

Anyway, here:
"Intel innovation continues with the introduction of Intel® Matrix RAID Technology, which combines the benefits of RAID 0 performance and RAID 1 protection on two hard drives. For example, games and video editing benefit from improved performance, while valuable personal photos and financial records can be better protected from a drive failure."
