I just installed a new Abit BD7 motherboard and it will not boot. The Post LED shows a code of A7. I can't find that code in the manual. Can anyone help?
can you give us a detailed description of your rig? (all parts) is this mobo in a new case? did you install the stand-offs correctly? What exactly happens when you boot the computer? do you get any beeps? does the screen show anything?
The case is new, an Antec sx635. I have new 256MB Micron DDR memory. I have one HD - Western Digital 102AA - 10 GB. I have an AGP Nvidia GeForce2MX200 Video card. I have a new Pentium4 1.6 Northwood. I have one floppy. I have a 56X cdrom. I installed the standoffs matching up the holes on the MB. I get one long beep and the LED stays at A7. I get no video on the screen.
If I remember correctly 1 long beep denotes a video card problem, make sure it is seated correctly and reboot. If you can try to switch out video cards with one that you know works.
Put in a PCI video card -- no luck. Then I disconnected everything - still get same error code. One long, long beep at the beginning. Should I take the board out of the case and try it?
