And all of Alabama rejoices. If USC beats ND next weeks the real fun begins.

Assuming Notre Dame gets past USC...

Notre Dame vs. Winner of Bama/Georgia now right? (Assuming Bama or Georgia don't slip next week)

I'm just wondering what happens if Notre Dame loses to USC? Bama/Georgia vs... Florida, LSU, A&M, other USC? Ugh.

It all goes to Hell and the playoff folks laugh and point.

Does this bring Florida State back into national championship contention? They only have 1 loss, right?

They only have 1 loss but are also sitting behind ~5 SEC teams in the BCS rankings. Granted they do still play Florida and a win there would definitely help. Their biggest problem is that the 1 loss is a really bad loss (relative to the other top 1 loss teams).

Hell yeah! Love you Stanford and Baylor. Sorry, I'm a Bama fan.

I'm not sure if I want ND to win or not. I went to south bend this year for the ND Stanford game and the fans were awesome...very classy. On the other hand it would be funny to se the BCS screw things up again. I guess I'll pull for em though.

Alabama is almost for sure to be in the championship game now since they'll win out.

I think oregon still has a shot at the championship if ND loses to USC. Oregon might still be ahead of FLA even after this loss.

Not a Notre Dame fan but who deserves it more than them if they beat USC next week? Heck, even if they lose a close one.

USC's starting QB is injured and probably won't play, ND will win, and then get blown out by any given SEC team that makes it in (fricking Alabama).

Notre Dame will beat a crippled and underwhelming USC team and Alabama will take the SEC championship

then... Notre Dame will get smashed by Alabama in the championship... I look forward to it

Loving it! Now ND will have to take care of business against a Bark-less USC team. BUT.. if they can't.. I get to point and laugh at the BCS again for another cluster-fuck situation. DOUBLE BUT... if ND does win and plays Alabama for the national championship I can't wait until the entire world picks against ND yet AGAIN and will end up having to eat the ultimate fucking crow and have to accept the fact the Irish are back and they can't do shit about it. Screw the haters, screw the SEC, keep picking against ND it's been working great this year.

And lost in all of this is Georgia. Don't overlook them, folks. BUT THEY SUCK, THEY WERE BLOWN OUT BY SC!!!! THEY HAVE A SOFT SCHEDULE!!!! I know, but they are definitely playing better than many believe. I think they are peaking at the right time and will end up in the title game, which I believe they will win.

Peace

A friend of mine is a huge UGA fan and I told him yesterday that they're now basically in their own version of a college football championship. Beat Georgia Tech, Beat Bama (or LSU) in the SEC championship game, and you're then playing in the BCS title game.

There are now only 3 teams left that control their own destiny.

...and history repeats itself.

I was 8 when I watched that game on TV, laying under the Christmas Tree. My Uncle Al, a big Bama fan, sat there and stomped his feet yelling "BAMA! BAMA!" any time they did something. But in the end, Notre Dame perservered, as they will against USC and whomever they are paired up with. Notre Dame is back!

Goddamn Stanford. They have kept the Pac 10 out of the title game at least 5 times in the last 10 years. And they kept themselves out last year by losing to Oregon. If they lose to UCLA, Oregon will have a chance, but if Stanford wins out they can't make it to the title game with 2 loses and current ranking. Ugh. Its hard to be annoyed at a program that does things the right way, but wtf!

Since Ohio St isnt eligible, Rose Bowl doesnt mean much this year, so Stanford should get out of the way! My perfect world scenario would be USC beating ND, UCLA beating Stanford, Alabama winning out, and we get Oregon vs Alabama, like we thought we would a couple of weeks ago. Although now that Stanford put out a blueprint for stopping Oregon, Alabama should be able follow it. Still, I'd like to see each team get a month to prep against each other.

Your perfect scenario still has flaws unfortunately. If ND loses and Florida beats Florida State next week then you could very well have a Bama vs. Florida or a Georgia vs. Florida title game.

Here is what I want to see happen.

Georgia loses to Ga Tech(keep in mind that Georgia will be overlooking GT because of their showdown with Alabama

Georgia beats Alabama in the SEC Championship game

Clemson destroys South Carolina

FSU destroys Florida

Notre Dame crushes USC.

Oregon Loses to Oregon State

Stanford loses to UCLA

Kansas State loses to Texas

That leaves Clemson, FSU and Notre Dame as 1 loss teams in the top 10. It would be absolutely hilarious given the love the SEC gets.
