BCLK Limitation?

I do have a different motherboard (P6T) but I didn't even try to get (20x200) on my C1. Instead I immediately dropped the CPU Ratio to 16 and bumped the BCLK to 200. Now I can get as high as 19x200, but when I do stability tests the core temps go over the 72°C that I feel comfortable with...

Maybe if I was running a water-cooling setup things would be different. As it is I'm stable at 3.6GHz on air (Zalman CNPS9900), and I'm happy with that result. In fact I might drop it to 3.2GHz just because that will allow it to run that much cooler. But I want the BCLK at 200! Since I paid for memory that meets that spec.

For the record I use a program named OCCT for my stability testing. It is basically a front end for Linpack, afaik. But I like it because it allows me to monitor my individual core temps, and it can also test GPU and memory.

Yeah, i´ve been using the stock cooler... But my case has 7 fans with a well designed airflow, it help,s but a new cooler é truly needed.

And Shmee those are the cores temps or the CPU temp? And by the way, you were killed by the Sand People, that´s a shame!

Those were core temperatures via realtemp. and as for sand ppl, they are like mosquitos, they dont really have a purpose. They should put all of the sand ppl on kessel and execute base delta zero. Evil sand ppl lol.

I suppose you may have trouble believing that my temps are that low? Well, they were, I have a very good air setup. Lapped TRUE black with high speed push pull. I have my friend faxon to thank for the lapping 😀

Anyways, I suppose I could provide proof if need be of temps under linx.

Wow, thats even more impressive than the 110 CFM scythe fans I have. (one on my true, one in the tuniq tower I believe. the pull on my true is a high speed yateloon.) I believe the True series does best with high airflow fans, where the megahalem is designed for less airflow. I'd recomend the true or true black. Just be ready to lap it for maximum effectiveness.

I believe you my friend. I dunno if a get the Megahalem, TRUE Cooper, Black or Extreme. I´ll be push-pulling too, with a back case fan and a 2 frontal (intake) helping me. I´d like to get 2 of these, but i think it will get very noisy: http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/de12pfexhisp.html

OMG!! you will have to anchor the case to the floor... or it might act like a rocket sled! =P

Seriously, those are going to make it sound like a hovercraft. It's called "overkill", or is that a foreign concept?

hmmm...good problem to have to select between those coolers. I believe the black was on sale for $65 or so. I think the copper is $100. You have to buy the 1366 bracket for Thermalright though....another $10. I would get the black it's pretty nice.
