the mods has edited sampson's original post before it was deleted, but i cant remember what they said
 
dwell and SampSon were not banned, and our moderators did not delete their accounts. At least four long time members' accounts disappeared for unknown reasons. We have emailed Anand and Jason Clark, our system administrator about this.

We apologize to all members affected by this, whatever the cause.

For some reason I have been completely deleted from the AT forums. Try and find a post by me. Odd. Anyone know what's up with that?

I am thinking someone might have hacked and deleted those accounts due to hatred possibly?

do the mods have a log on when the account moderator was logged on?
 
I'm sure they can just input a custom number of postcounts and modify the join dates and titles for the 4 people.

Exactly. I don't care about the post counts; I care about all the effort I put into my posts over the last four years (I joined in 12/2001). For all intents and purposes, that information is gone forever.

The posts aren't gone forever. There are full backups of the forum DB, so it's possible that most(if not all) of the posts could be recovered and re-integrated. How much work that will require and if Jason will do it is another issue entirely though.
 
It happened to me back in August of 04', being deleted that is. I thought I'd been banned. The mod said "No, it was just a mistake.".

I don't recall my original join date but it was late 00' early 01' as seen by my Heatware. My first trade was back in 3.01' so I know I was with AT since then at LEAST.

It sucked being deleted, but in the grand scheme of things it wasn't that big of a deal.

BTW, I had 5000 some odd posts. Sh1t happens, life goes on.

Oh and Jumpr "STFU N00B!!!!". j/k...Sorry had to say it! A few people called me n00b once or twice after rejoining. It wasn't worth telling them any different.

This is kinda like SW:RotS, where (almost) all the Jedi get killed. Is there some rogue Mod that has fallen to the Dark Side? Somebody over there buy an Intel PC recently?

reintegrate upwards of 50 or 60 THOUSAND posts? Actually HUNDREDS of thousands of posts possibly counting those of others in the deleted threads.

It took us years to get a COOKIE emoticon....
