The catch is this:

What do you do when your son turns 16.... your Ex-husband buys him a sports car... and he gets a speeding ticket (64 in a 35) the first HOUR he has the car.... THEN LIES ABOUT IT??!!
You make him watch his favorite birthday present being sold on Ebay.

How do you make it worse?

You make him watch his favorite birthday present... something he has wanted soooooo bad... being sold on Ebay to a person that does not even know what model they are buying.

Notice that it never says his "favorite birthday present" (which is what's being sold) is the sports car.

Geez, Im really curious as to what it is.

I say Prelude! Popular in black, Japanese, sporty yet not too expesnive for a teenager.

It's definitely not a Prelude as there were none produced in 2005.

I have a feeling that someone is going to get stuck with something of little value for a lot of money. But she does not have any terms as far as how payment has to made and when.

Maybe a Hot Wheels Car or something
Anyone who tries to sell a crumpled up piece of paper as "oragami" is a scammer.
This has got to be BS

Unfortunately the winning bidder (if he/she does pay) will not be getting an automobile.

A set of keys....probably a couple .99 keys from walmart

The gift...a hot wheels car or some toy.

Notice how she never mentions the actual automobile in the description...I know she doesn't want to say what kind of car it is, but she doesn't even say it's a car. Her son's "favorite bday present" could be a hot wheels car or a video game. No where does it say the "gift" that she gives is really a full working automobile.

It's probably a Playstation 2 Slim or something... Made in 2005, black, made in asia... probably a cool present for a 16 year old...

Wow...I read the article someone posted the link to above (e-bay...on mystery auctions). Guess it IS probably too good to be true. What really lures me in as a mom is the part about the son getting a speeding ticket. BTDT (Been there, Done that) 🙁

Don't misunderstand...I am NOT about to bid on something that I can't see. Oh wait...the KEYS are what someone is currently willing to pay $8500 for. *sigh*

Some people have more money than brains...

For all those who think it's a car...re-read the auction.

No where does it mention that it's a car. Sure she says car in the little speeding ticket story, but that has nothing to do with what she's giving away. It's only there to trick you. She mentions "model", "fav. present", "made in asia" but no where does she confirm it is a working full-scale usable automobile.

Can anyone warn the High Bidder or is it worthless to do so? If someone is dumb enough to bid, let them eat what they get......?

Who said the seller is selling the car? I just read keys in a box.

i read keys in a box as what people are bidding on

and then the "gift" that comes with the box has 4 wheels, is near new and comes from asia......

could be a 1:18 model car for all anyone knows. and again that house just doesnt look american

Funny. That pic is from England.

- Typical house design
- Alfa 156 in the driveway (not available in the US)
- Alfa is right hand drive

I guess it's a remote controlled nitro car or something. Anyway, it's BS.
