BBC Critisizes FoxNews for their "Patriotic" News Coverage...

Read this article here on the BBC chief who critisized the US Media FoxNews for not questioning the government enough during the war. Personally I tend to agree with that opinion, as it seemed that Fox was running a 24hr prove your patriotism newscast on the war coverage.

What really sort of irked me was an incident with a friend of mine, who upon FoxNews showing the faces of those unfortunate souls to come to an early demise in the conflict, immediately tried to cut off our conversation so we could all sit in a "moment of silence" for those who had fallen. Upon which I shut off the TV, and told him to cut the crap and get on with the game. (There was eight of us there) His reply was "how could you be so callus?" To which I said, "When they honor the dead at a real ceremony, then I will be silent. But Fox News deserves no more of my attention for patriotism than sneeze."

What is the really bad part is that FoxNews is so popular. You see how popular conservative radio is and if that is any indication of other forms of media, Fox News will pnly get more popular. I rarely watch Fox News because of their decision making style of reporting.

These bed-wetting liberal media companies are just scared $hitless that a more conservative news source is so popular. They feel threatened. Instead of complaining, they should quit spouting their mindless liberal trash (and CNN should fire Judy Woodruff and friends).

LONDON (Reuters) - U.S. broadcasters' coverage of the Iraq (news - web sites) war was so unquestioningly patriotic and so lacking in impartiality that it threatened the credibility of America's electronic media, the head of the BBC said on Thursday.
America's electronic media has credibility? 😕

I find it humorous that the same people who think fox news is the greatest news source ever continue to criticize the degeneration and mindlessness of TV every time they see an ad for "World's bloodiest police chases - next on FOX!" Both shows are produced by the same people, and thier goal is the same: bring in as much money as possible.

Did anybody really take FoxNews seriously during the war? I found they were amusing, but i certainly took everything with a grain of salt.

I wathced a lot of Fox News during the war. Their obvious Flaq Waving Reporting made me feel a lot less anxious about the war.

Something else ironic I noticed about Fox news is that although it is in the minority of news stations (due to it having a blatant conservative bias) the anchor ladies always wear the shortest skirts. Maybe just a coincidence, but I found it amusing none the less. 🙂

So, you hate fox news because they are patriotic and instead of criticising, they actually try to be nice? They try to honor our fallen soldiers and you complain? Go back to russia you piece of crap. I will never criticize someone for trying to honor a fallen soldier. You are a poor excuse for a human being.

why would conservative voices be so strong, unless all the other voices, NPR and the other chable news stations, are liberal. Unless conservatives just watch the news more than liberals. Which is it? Wow an American news station that is patrotic, whats scary is that is viewed as a bad thing. (The liberal european stations are very anti-american and we help them countinously so other stations are not fair and balenced). Furthermore, the british military boycotted the BBC because of their slanted coverage and a BBC reported in iraq was pissed off that the BBC eas spining his reports to seem like the British and Americans were lossing. Yeah the BBC has a right to accuse other stations of being bias

Why? What was so bad about them that you can't take them seriously?

I took them as seriously as I did MSNBC and CNN.

BBC can suck the poop outta my chute.

I'm offended when media companies attack other companies directly like that. Whether you agree with Fox or not, or BBC or not, is irrelavent. Fox pulled this crap too when CNN announced it had info it didn't report about Iraq prior to the war.

I want news, not bickering. I'll decide what news is appropriate, and what I want to watch.

I watched Fox News. I like the channel but anyone that one gets their news from one source is an idiot anyways.

I especially liked Shepard Smith. He is the same type person as the Bagdad Bob. I laughed so many times at his flag waving on the air. It was just quite amusing.

Typical Double standard. Since they are liberal then any conservative form of Media is bad because it contradicts what they are saying.

Personally I would rather have an equal balance of Liberal and conservative slanted news stations to even things out instead of the heavy liberal slant that we see now.

I'd rather have unbiased facts, thanks. Sadly, those will never win a ratings war so we're stuck with the pathetic excuses for "news" channels currently on the air.

No, when I look for NEWS I look for as objective a NEWS source as I can, Sky News or BBC seem to have a more objective view.

You are a poor excuse for a human being.

And your a weak minded corporate muppet.

Interesting comment(concerning: going back to Russia).

What's the difference between a Privately owned media outlet which parrots the government and a Publicly owned media outlet that parrots the government?

As I said before, I do not watch Fox news much because I am discusted with their unprofessionalism. Anyway, their one half of the story is called the conservative slant however their reporters spouting out their opinions which occupies 90% of the news cast is just downright unprofessional. When I want to watch the news, I want reporting and just reporting, not "well I thing we are great because the Iraqis love us and have been welcoming us with open hands" when in actuallity, an overwhelming number of the population that we (the US) have done out job and now it is time to get out. I don't hear the BBC reporting that we are making sure we stay for the oil money do you? Come on, that is the liberal opinion but do I hear this "far left" party reporting that? No, I don't so I guess they are not that far left after all and remain very professional at their reporting.
