This is going to annoy people on all sides of the divide. I don't see how else to proceed though. If elections were held then the winning candidates would be unable to take their seats because of the ongoing NI assembly's suspension. The fact that the elected representatives could end up doing very little to nothing may cause anger too. IMHO the best hope is that the election can be used as a bargaining chip to get all sides to come to an agreement one way or the other.
