Somewhere between a shopping cart and a utility/tool cart. Self driving, programmable. Homeowner, apartment dweller, sends it out to the road or wherever packages are delivered. Delivery driver deposits package(s), then presses Send button. Cart brings packages to secure home unit location and parks itself.

No rain on packages in rural areas , less chance of porch pirates in areas affected by them.

Options would include rain cover or locking cage.

I'll be able to buy Xitter from the Big Giant Xit.

Or maybe a dozen eggs.

So what we have here in Europe instead is to have the package delivered to your local supermarket/kiosk/etc. and simply pick up your package when it is convenient for you to do so. Basically local stores get a few $ for being small post offices for primarily packages.

How do you keep people from stealing your package bot? Or damaging it?

Amazon already has something similar in many locations...or retail establishments where you can have your package delivered for pickup.

You have to go to a locker to get your stuff.

That means you have to take time out of reading ATOT to do so.

The PackageBot solves that problem by waiting patiently at the end of your driveway or at your apartment building's delivery area and bringing the package to you.

What do you imagine cost per unit would be for something like this? What do you imagine max package size would be? This magic butler going to be able to climb stairs?
