I'm from the southbay so I don't really know of that many churches in the city. My parish is The Lady of Peace in santa clara but given our time schedule and everything, a church in SF would work out better for everyone.

I've checked out St. Peter and Paul's Church ... looks awesome inside but they're booked for our weddding date ... help! thanks in adv.

Also if you have any suggestions for chinese banquests, pls. post ... so far our top choice is Koi Palace but their prices are pretty high.

oh man koi palace has the best dim sum EVERRRRR!!

(this is the one in daly city right?)

only wedding i've been to was at the Claremont in Berkeley (i think that's what its called). It's nice though, whatever it is.

Call me mr. helpful

yeah, the only in daly city ... man, for 200 ppl. it's coming up at 12k. UGH. We're thinking about checking out the place one of this weekend to see how big the portions are ...

I'll add Claremont and St. Dominics to the list ... keep the suggestions coming!

St. John's Presbyterian (in SF, Richmond District) has a pretty good interior and decent lighting.

Do you have any denomination preference? West Portal Lutheran and Ebenezer Lutheran are decent, but I'm not sure if they require a Lutheran pastor to officiate or be part of the ceremony.

Koi Palace is really expensive! Last time I saw their top banquet menu was $700 per table! How about Flower Lounge Restaurant in Millbrae? East Ocean Restaurant in Emeryville is great for sunsets and skyline. Peony Restaurant in Oakland Chinatown is good too.

Congratulations.

The South Bay has some nice Churches too. Valley Presbyterian in Portola Valley is about the most beautiful Church I've ever seen.

For Chinese banquets, Ming's of Palo Alto is excellent.

I can probably email you pics of the Chuch if you're interested..

oops, guess it would help if I included the denomination ... catholic here! 🙂

Haven't checked out the Flower Lounge yet ... but I've been to the East Ocean and Peony. East ocean has a bunch of columns throughtout the restaurant so it kinda gets in the way. Peony is nice but I heard the food there was only average.

Keep em coming! 🙂

Unless your a close member of the local cathlolic church or know someone, it gets pretty tough to get married in SF. I also 2nd the R and G Lounge on Kearny St. near Clay and Sacramento. Try Ton Kiang restaurant on Geary st. near 22nd Ave - They are pretty good, too!!

my cousin is having his banquet at ming's on oct 9th UNFORTUNATELY. we have a humongous family and i think some people were cut off the list but apparently that's what the bride wanted... i'd rather have a bigger place that can accomodate my monster family. the food is still good at some of the larger restaurants in like milpitas. ... only 200 guests... geez.

anyways, my uncle had his at gold mountain... in sf... totally forgot what street that's on though. crap. i can picture it in my mind but i can't name the street to save me.... ooh but according to city search its on broadway! anyways, i remember him renting out the entire second floor of that place.

my biggest issue always with SF weddings was parking. i remember as a little kid my dad would have to drop us off first and then he'd have to find a parking lot.

i've been to a banquet at the mayflower in milpitas, not bad not great but still good size wise. there's also dynasty in san jose, just by sheer size. i haven't eaten there but it always seems like there's a banquet there every weekend.
