It'll certainly be interesting, and even more so if we also see a Surface Pro 2 equipped with Haswell! Although, to be fair, you'll probably be comparing it to an iPad 5 as Apple will most likely unveil their mobile refresh within a month's time.

4 real cores @ up to 2.4GHz (improved IPC vs Cloverview), 2W SDP (most power efficient Haswell chips have 4.5-6W SDP). Certainly interesting, lets hope it performs well and convinces OEMs to release good quality 8-10'' Windows 8.1 tablets for a reasonable price.

I'm hoping microsoft expands the surface line-up with an 8" bay trail tablet, if performance is good that would be my next tech purchase.

It'll be interesting to see how cheap these smaller Atom-based tablets actually get. If they actually reach ~ $200 levels and battery life and performance is good, where does that leave Windows RT?

Personally, I am expecting Intel-based tablets to start at around $400, with Windows RT taking the sub-$400 market position...
