hi guys
i was wondering if anyone knows about a future netbook that features a bay trail cpu. i've been looking on google but all i can find is hybrids. i'm currently using an asus x101ch and i love it but it obviously lacks comput power, for me a similar machine equiped with a bay trail cpu would be perfect. if it has touch screen or if the screen is detachable would be a plus but not necessary, the most important is that it has 2 or more full size usb ports, rj45, 2 or more GB of ram, 1376*768 minmum resolution, upgradable hdd of course and most of all it has to be 10.6".
so if anyone knows about the (future) existance of such a thing i'd really like to know about it.
thanks.

i had the chance to try it, it's not bad at all but there is no rj 45, and the keyboard is really too small compared to other 10" netbooks, plus many people report encountering issues with that model.

You're not going to find many (if any) recent netbook/tablet with a RJ45 port. Use a USB adapter if you need one.

Bay Trail may be fast compared to other tablet CPUs, but it's still slow compared to something like a mobile Core i5.

The closest you'll get is the Dell Inspiron 11. Dual core Haswell Celeron (faster than Bay Trail), has RJ45 port, 2x USB 3.0 ports and 1x USB 3.0 port, touchscreen, and only $299 when it goes on sale for Black Friday. It's 11", but I don't see anything else that's better for your needs, and if you were complaining about the keyboard size on the T100 then a 11" one is probably a better bet for you.

Both Lenovo and HP have 10" touchscreen windows 8 netbooks based on the Bay Trail. However, neither have an RJ45 port. The N2806 just came out 2 weeks ago, so it will still take a bit of time before we start seeing them on new netbooks. Asus has the one with the A4-1200 processor if you're willing to consider.

dell has nice flip screen netbook type stuf i think but theyre expensive for what they are. also i think most people will still be disappointed with atom performance, you still cant open tons of windows with bay trail

thanks for your answers.
concerning the cpu part of amd apus, they not faster than old atoms, so i'd rather avoid them.
i can see that new netbooks using new celerons (bay trail M) are being released, and i was wondering what performance we can expect from them. i've seen a review of the celeron J1750 @2.4Ghz on tomshardware and it's barely faster than the D2700 @2.13 Ghz so I imagine the gap would be smaller at similar clock speeds.
I also imagine that the Z3740 would be about 50% faster with only about 2.5w TDP against 10w for the J1750.
this doesn't make sense does it?

i remembered that the bay trail D doesn't feature speedstep but even if it did that wouldn't make a big difference.

AMD Kaveri is substantially faster than old Atom chips. Its actually faster than Baytrail, clock for clock. It just doesnt clock as high and is less energy efficient.

yes you are right, but there isn't such a big improvement compared to ontario. for example the a4 1250 is slightly more power efficient than the C60 but doesn't perform better.

Kaveri refers to the desktop successors to Richland/Trinity. You mean Temash.

i have found some passmark scores on cpubenchmark.net for those who are interested
celeron n2805: 425
atom n2600: 530
amd a4-1200: 670
celeron n2910: 971
atom z3740: 1098
this is strange. I don't know if these results are very reliable but if this is true it means that the new celeron (baytrail) is much slower than an older celeron (sandy bridge or whatever) not talking about power consumption of course.
