Bay Trail Drivers

Has anyone seen any Windows 8.1 Bay Trail drivers anywhere? I got an Asus Transformer T100TA and I started installing Windows 8.1 Enterprise on it, but I later learned that no one seems to have full Bay Trail drivers out. Even Dell doesn't have any drivers for their Venue 8 Pro.

This is for the Bay Trail Atom processors, so there are no Windows 8 drivers for it. It does appear that Dell added some Z3700 drivers for the Venue 8 Pro, so I installed it and now I am down to 2 unknown drivers of which one is the video card because video playback is choppy, but at least I can use the touch screen now and I have sound.

I've never had to install drivers for a CPU (at least not since my first AMD Athlon 64 X2). So I assume you need the GPU drivers. Baytrail just uses an HD4000, same thing as Ivy Bridge. So perhaps try Intel's Ivy Bridge HD4000 GPU drivers.

care to give a list of drivers needed (that can't be obtained via windows update or asus update) ?

tried to install W8.1 Pro, no drivers available (for touchscreen/GPU), so I reverted using Recovery

You could try to restore the stock OS, use Double Driver to extract any non-Microsoft drivers.. could do it for you on the weekend when I have time

EDIT: there is a new BIOS update (11/5)

don't think they fixed the x64 UEFI bootloader issue

BIOS 216
1.Update EC F/W.
2.Update GOP Driver
3.Auto Wake up system after winflash.
4.Fix Atmel touch panel run at wrong frequency.
5.Fix there is no password check when winflash.
6.Adjust Panel power sequence.

I tried the regular Intel HD drivers, but it said it didn't meet the minimum requirements. Just for the heck of it, I had it update the Intel Basic Display Driver and pointed at the folder the Dell Venue Pro 8 drivers extracted to and it installed the Intel HD drivers. Sadly, the other 2 Unknown drivers didn't update when I tried that.

BIOS was at 216. Everything on the Asus support site for the T100TA was installed. Windows Update couldn't find the drivers, nor did the Asus update utility.

After downloading the Dell Intel_Chipset_PR2.1_A00_setup_ZPE.exe and Intel_TXE_PR2.1_A00_Setup_ZPE.exe and installing them, then updating the graphics drive by pointing it to the folder the Chipset drivers extracted to, these are the 2 items left that no drivers had been detected for any folders that I have extracted files to.

These are their hardware ids listed on the driver details page.
1. ACPI\INVN6500 (BIOS device name is \_SB.I2C5.SENS)
2. ACPI\INT33F0 (BIOS device name is \_SB.I2C4.CAM0)

I would guess the 2nd one is a camera since the camera app can't find one.

Hi. Had the same problems after doing a fresh windows install.
The 2 intel driver packages on the dell venue 8 pro website helped a lot.
Still have the 2 unknown devices that you listed. Think the invn one relates to the gyroscope. Went on the manufacturers website but they dont have drivers either.
Thr other one is for the camera.
All ran very slow in gaming however as I couldn't find a graphics driver package that worked.
Until I found some cab file to download from microsoft that was made for bay trail devices. It installed fine and graphics are great.
I can try and find the link to the working intel hd graphics drivers if you still need it.

Think the vendor for invn is invensense who make gyroscopes for tablets etc.
They do have a product named '6500' but couldnt see any drivers to download for it.
Im sitting with my box to send it back to asus tho. Until dell listed those drivers I had 10 days without a working tablet so booked it in for repair.
If it comes back all shiny and new, by all means I can extract the drivers for those 2 missing devices for you. They say it'll be away for up to 7 days though.

I had tried downloading various other tablet driver packages to see if I could find any .inf files that showed the invn6500. Like tne asus vivotab, thought it may be in there somewhere. Didnt have much luck though.

It does seem to be the gyroscope. I tried turning the tablet vertically and it didn't switch the view.

The Z3700 driver from Dell's site extracts the Intel HD driver, but it doesn't install it. The only thing that is installed is the Intel Basic Display Driver. But, if I go to Device Manager and tell it to update the driver for the Intel Basic Display Driver and point it to the folder the Z3700 drivers extracted to, it finds the Intel HD driver and installs it. I haven't tried it with any games, but video was choppy until I installed it.

The link to what you found would be good, because I know plenty of people are going to redo Windows at some point. It's just a shame that Asus hasn't put all the drivers out for it. They list it as a laptop that can also function as a tablet, so you would figure the drivers would be there.

Oh, not very good at posting links, anyway the cab file link is in a post dated 14th October from stephan. You can see in the .inf info he posted it includes the 0f31 device

Asus have been a total pain, wouldn't honour the warranty. Not good when you have to download drivers on a dell website instead for a product that I don't think has shipped yet ha. Oh the asus van is at the door..

I just checked again today and Asus has all their drivers up, so now everything has been detected and installed.

Grrr. Booked it in for repair 2 weeks back as at that time I had 12 unkmown devices and a system restore that didn't. Took them 2 weeks for them to agree I had a warranty. And when they finally collect it, they put the drivers up. Now its away for a week.
Thanks for the info though.

How did you go about installing 8.1 Enterprise on the TA100? I've been trying to install it from a USB flash drive but can't seem to get it recognize the flash drive as a boot option and install. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I tried using that tool as well as one called Rufus and couldn't get the tablet to recognize the flash drive, although it does work in other machines. I may try another flash drive later tonight. I just wanted to see what tools folks were using to make a bootable flash drive. Thanks.
