read the Mr. Roadshow column in the san jose mercury news - i LOVE it. he always takes questions about transportation issues in the bay area, and those interchanges pop up the most.

i wish they had a mr roadshow for LA.

Ditto, absolutely love that column. Very first thing I read when I pick up the paper every day. Cool guy too, I've asked a fair share of questions and he's always kind in his responses. Although his tirades on seatbelt usage and gas whining days get pretty old after awhile.

511.org is another traffic resource for the Bay Area. You can even dial 511 from your phone while you're on the road to get traffic conditions. However only certain stretches of certain freeways are monitored right now. Another year or two before they really flesh it out for the rest of the bay IIRC.
