Yeah - it's about pricewatch prices. Currently a XP 1900 is $120 while a K7S5A is $45 so if you include shipping costs it should be the same as paying tax.

Yes it has onboard sound and it uses pc100/133 or pc2100. It has 4 slots for memory (2 each).

ECS board is a good board (on-board lan and sound, takes SDRAM or DDR) IMHO. I jumped on the Duron 950 and ECS combo deal last time when it's $69 and it's VERY stable combined with Windows XP. Never had any problems. Just want to share my experience. :)

Did the ECS K75SA/Duron 1ghz $79 deal the other week. Runs rock stable@ 10X138=1380 mhz out of the box at default voltage! OC options are limited however by this board. But with onboard LAN and Sound couldn't beat the price!

I bought this motherboard + CPU combo several weeks ago from Frys when it was $199. On my system, WinXP won't even boot up if the cpu is running any faster than 1.2 GHz.

Bought 3 of these boards for 3 systems. 1 was DOA, 1 works but is incredibly unstable, and 1 won't accept anything faster than 1ghz. But now I have one working fine with my Athlon 750. Good board if you have good power and good luck, I guess :)
