Maybe you need to find a deal on a good geograpy book. Confused about the letters SF and the words Bay Area together? What else can that be?

Yeah and maybe you need a hot deal on a spelling book 🙂 (Mr. Geograpy)

I just got done installing one of these WD2000JBRTL drives from Fry's. These are the retail versions, 3-year warranty and include a Promise Ultra 100 TX2 controller card. This controller card supports 48-bit LBA, which is needed to break the 137 gig barrier. There is even a 800 number for tech support (starting to get rare, nowadays.)

Is this valid in other Frys stores in the Bay Area?

I got the ad from the San Jose Mercury news. So yes all stores in that area.

Does it say when this deal is over or is it just while supplies last? I can't go pick one up until like Monday, so I need to know.

Are there any other deals on this 200GB hard drive right now? I'd be willing to pay $200 AR for it.

"Does it say when this deal is over or is it just while supplies last?"

The Sales Circular states: "Prices good FRI, FEB. 07, 2003 thru Tues, FEB 11, 2003. Prices subject to change after TUE, FEB 11, 2003." There are actually two MIRs. The $20 MIR is valid on purchases February 7 thru February 27. The $100 MIR is valid on purchases January 31 thru February 28, 2003. There was no expiration stated about the price of the drive, except for the overall circular expiration date I already mentioned.

deals go for Sacramento Fry's as well. Has there been any region-only deals? because i always check out the latimes online Fry's ads and they're exactly the same as the Sac ones.

Is there a part number for this item? I'm Australia and trying to get a friend in the US to purchase one of these for me. He doesn't seem to be having much luck talking to the Fry's customer service people on the phone. They're trying to sell him an external FW drive 🙁

This deal is a no-go at the Fry's in Wilsonville, Oregon. They had a rack full of them with a sign saying $250 after a $100 mail-in rebate. I was going to ask one of the managers about it to see if I could get the same deal as the one advertised at the other Fry's Electronics stores, but they all looked very busy and the place was packed. The trip wasn't a total waste though. I went for a few other things too.

The 10K RPM S-ATA drives aren't going to be very cheap... Unless you think $160 for a 37 GB HDD is cheap...

why not just say bay area since there is no FRY's in SF. just a pointer, making people all confused, lol

There are other Bay Areas like Tampa Bay Area....to just say Bay Area is not enough and will get people in Tampa Bay all happy for no reason.

Wow, cheaper than U160 SCSI. That might be a hot deal after all.
