I concur.

The movie sahara doesn't do the charactors, Dirk Pitt and crew, justice. At least people read the Cussler books. I would have to say Sahara is one of my favorite books the cussler wrote.

Sahara was a much better adaptation. We have to realize that the filmmakers only have two hours to work with instead of several hundred pages. They did include lots of little touches for Cussler fans.

I heard some bad things about Raise the titanic, some of them came from cussler himself. I remember reading a while back that Cussler and the studios were going at it over the script. So, I guess the end result was not too shabby. I saw the movie with a friend. She enjoyed it. I enjoyed the movie, but the book is in another leauge.

yeah, i realize that most studios want movies to be 2 hrs long, and that as an adatptation it made do with the time constraints. I will admit though, that its been a while since i've read Sahara. But out of all the fiction Cussler books i've read ( which will be all of them once i read the latest book from the Oregon series ) , Sahara is my favorite and is the one that i recommend to friends ( regardless of the movie being out.)

If you are trying to investigate or track someone or something down, Bauer is your man... he will just break fingers, shoot kneecaps, and hacksaw his way to whatever he needs. If you need someone killed, you go with Bourne. Bourne would totally pwn Bauer, though.

Bourne is maybe the closest comparible. The fact that you said Bond would beat out the other two, is amazing.

When it comes down to saving the day, Bauer is the one you want in charge. He'll cut off heads, shoot legs, break fingers, etc. Bond, what's he going to do? That drunk will order a Martini.
