My friend every time he comes over brings the box set and pushes me to watch it with him. Is it any good? I always find an excuse to not watch it with him. He keeps going on about how its the best show he's ever seen..watched all seasons 5x over now.

Mind you, I did love the original series...but i'm afraid its going to end up like the Stargate series..I hate crappy 1 hour sci-fi shows.
 
It's an ok show,the setup is great! I loved the pilot but the show drags on and gets pretty ridiculous real fast.
 
I just remember a lot of crying. Robots crying because they can't go to heaven, humans crying cause (can't remember why but everybody cried the whole time). It was very "anguishy". Everybody's feelings were hurt all the time. Even Starbuck was a drama queen. It had cool moments but too much drama. And the camera doing that choppy handheld thing that was pioneered on Homicide: Life on the Streets. I watched the whole thing but was pissed at myself for doing so 😀
 
Overall its a good series. Quick summary first 1/3 is great, next 1/3 is ok, final 1/3 is strangely god focused, finale was far too complicated.

I didn't like how they left crap loads of loose ends to stories.
 
In the end it sucked. The payoff wasn't there.

Go watch Stargate SG-1 (or Atlantis) instead.

Watch the entire show, I guarantee you that at the end you'll be like

But it's still a very good show, probably the most unique SciFi show..and totally WEIRD as well.
