I thought it was Baltar for the longest time given his little day dreams with #6.

But the Helo theory fits and makes sense.

But Roslyn has those daydreams with 6, sharon, and Hera, so I don't think it's Baltar for that reason.

I have said that I think it might be the lawyer (forget his name currently though), but Apollo is my vote.
I guess I always thought Roslins were actual dreams whereas Baltar sees 6 everywhere and all the time.

of course it could be that Baltar was always just crazy..

I thought the story arc with the lawyer was over but it was neat to see him pop back into the story.

The lawyer has an interesting voice. Good story teller.

They weren't just dreams. She shared them with the 6 and Athena

Zak Adama?

The dead brother of Lee Adama, son of the Admiral. There was some foreshadowing this season in that regard - Lee asking his father if they would have loved Zak any less if he turned out to be a Cylon. It's a major stretch, though.

For the rest of you guessers, keep in mind that you can rule out everyone in this (interactive) photo. Click the #10 (above the chalice) to see why.

why is everyone ignoring the picture? I recall when this picture and quote came out.
It is NOT one of the people in this picture.

Well that pretty much takes care of this thread's poll. I guess I'd have to go with Gaeta, because anyone else would be out of nowhere. He was doing some singing, after all. Music in his head?

It's entirely Gaeda. It has to be. They are making SUCH a huge deal out of his lost limb and him singing etc etc. You KNOW that leg is gonna grow back. :)
Gaeda is a SLAM-DUNK.

The lawyer was in a few episodes of Firefly too, where IMO his performance was a little bit better.

I completely agree, except for the part about his leg growing back. :)
My husband and I think that Gaeta was singing the way to Earth....weird theory but, weirder things have happened on the show.

well I was kidding in the leg growing back. But I wouldn't put it past them. As you said they have done weirder things and they KEEP SHOWING IT. If it does THAT is how they will know Gaeda is #5 and the all hell breaks loose.

Obviously the singing plays HEAVILY into it. Thats now the other 4 figured it out too. Honestly, that coupled with the picture/reveal a few posts above I think its a no-brainer.

Thank you. It is nice to have someone to agree with. Boy is my coworker going to be mad when he has to pay up!

Leoben (The Cylon prophet that hounds Starbuck throughout the series) whispered to Roslin that Adama was a Cylon before she had him spaced in the episode where Starbuck tortures and interrogates him.

My guess is that the 5th is Dualla. She was not an "Adama" at the time Leoben spoke, but she technically is now.

Gaeta would be weak since his character is of little importance except during the planetside storyline before the "big reboot." I wouldn't say that it would be unexpected for it to be him.

The real answer is that it's someone they introduce in the season finale, since the writers of this show are generally incapable of planning or forethought and end up jamming a plot into one episode that would have been good over 10 episodes, but instead is total crap.

I have a bet going with a coworker. He is convinced it is Laura Roslin, but I think that is too predictable. I think it is Gaeta, because it is unexpected.

What do you guys think?

That is very interesting. I still think they could change it up and reveal someone at the table. Also, Gaeta is not at that table which supports my guess. :)

What about Admiral Adama? wouldnt that be a twist. He could still end up on the ship in time for the telling.

The Admiral's at the table in the pic. Gaeta's about the only senior officer not at the table.

Also, Dualla's not at the table. She's not a "major" char (despite being Lee's ex-wife), but wouldn't it be a twist for her to be the 5th!

Yep! It's Gaeda alright. Now I know why he tried to kill Gaius Baltar. That question has been lingering in my not so bright mind since last season. :)

Gaius knew...so when Gaeda visited him in jail, he whispered to him that he was a frakkin toaster so he was a collaborator too like him in New Caprica. This totally enraged and provoked Gaeda to kill this infidel Gauis. How dare you say something like that to a toaster hating person like me? Now we know.

While I can see where you're coming from with that, you're actually misled. Baltar whispering in Gaeta's ear while Baltar was in captivity, causing Gaeta to stab him - that was going to be part of a storyline that was shredded at the last moment.

It was supposed to be about Baltar telling him that if he was going down, Gaeta was going down with him because of his complicity in a massacre that occurs on New Caprica under the Baltar administration. - it was regarding the Gemenons, who did end up getting a single episode in there about not wanting to use modern medicine to treat something.

I think Gaeta is far too secondary and unimportant a character to be the "big reveal" at the end. Dualla is someone I could possibly see, but I think she suffers from the same issue. No, I'd still going with Zarek or Zak Adama.

If it's Baltar, then that is retarded because why would they need to trick him into giving them access to the defense computer if he was a cylon?

Because the known Cylons wouldn't have known he was one of them. Baltar himself wouldn't have known, that's kinda the point of the Final Five.

It is NOT one of the people in this picture.

I was dead set on agreeing with you in telling people to not even bother guessing that it was someone in the picture until I realized that there are two Sixes in the picture. As a property of cylons is multiplicity, it could easily be another version of any of those people in the photo.

But I think the last cylon is in the fleet already, and a copy of Admiral Adama would probably not go unnoticed...

D'Anna said that the 5th wasn't in the fleet. Though that could mean that it was on board the base ship as one of the hostages, but who knows.
