Battlestar Galactica in HD

Wow! First time I saw this show in HD. Blows me away. This must be the best looking HD show on TV right now. Shot with 1080p HD video cams, and even the CGI looks mighty impressive.

I'm hoping when the next new HD DVD formats come around that this series will land on one of them.

It's very good.

Make sure to patch your machine (both nvidia and ATI) with their new DXVA patch offerings so you can play them skip-free on modern cards🙂

I wish I had HD to watch it. The scifi channel barely picks up. My scifi fridays are all staticy. 🙁

Not all of us actually download videos, and even if we did, transport streams (true HD) are not effected by any of those "patches" you're talking about. Those are only for WMV-HD acceleration.

Check out the original broadcast MPEG-2 HD version if you can.

I have.

<---encodes ts's to wmv-hd sometimes🙂

I'm not big on taking one compressed format (MPEG2) and recompressing it to another format.

I like WMVHD when they take it from an uncompressed source- it should be good if they decide to use it that way when Blu-Ray comes around.
