Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome, Starts November 9th

Well this should be interesting. After being conceived as web series, promoted to a TV pilot, canceled, and then finally demoted back to a web series, Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome is finally going to air on the 9th. It will be laid out as a 10 part miniseries, which means it will wrap up sometime in January at the earliest. After that, SyFy will air the whole thing on TV at some point in the year, presumably as a Saturday night movie.

SyFy is usually pretty hard-up for shows (especially sequels), but after the mess that was Caprica I have to wonder how bad a show needs to be before even SyFy passes on it. I guess we'll find out later this week.

I liked Caprica...it's what actually got me into BSG. Lets hope the new web series is decent and catches on.

Glad this wasn't released on Syfy, screw commercials and cable TV. Now I get to watch it on Youtube on my HDTV. 🙂 Looking forward to this.

Sparticus: blood and sand
battlestar galactica: blood and chrome
Game of Thrones: blood and incest
Dr. Who: blood and TARDIS
Japan: blood and tentacles

Wow. They have gone to extraordinary lengths to make sure it's a flop.
Running it as a web series with only 3 days notice and virtually no advertising.
Plus it's not even running on the Syfy channels website.

EDIT
New trailer:

As much as I'd love to see as many shows in the new BSG universe as possible, I'm not expecting this to be good.

Hell, the trailer makes it look like even simple sets were entirely blue screened, and not with fantastic results. It's going to simply look weird to the eye throughout the entire episode, if the trailer proves accurate.
BSG has a great visual approach because sure, there was a ton of CGI, but a lot of any given set was still physically real, and the gritty presentation was cold and immersive.

I'll wait for the air date, or at least some sort of replay, before I commit time to the new series. That trailer just did not pull me into it.

The whole thing is a green screen adventure. They decided to go the Spartacus route, but apparently they're using green screening for some indoor elements too.

OH SHIT. Syfy website has been "down for maintenance" since this story came out.
They probably knew how much grief they were going to get and took their website down.

They have a website? lol

http://www.syfy.com/forums/

People continually post threads about wtf is Syfy doing with wrestling, reality shows etc, and the mods must go nuts quickly moving them in the largest thread on the site which is about wtf is Syfy killing scifi for?
