But anyway I'm in <Blood Pack> hope to see you on the battlefield...

The more I play BG, the more I think pallys get SHAFTED.

What is their role? support? They have no instant heals aside from the once in a while LoH. They have no damage on the run aside from their rather mediocre melee damage. No snares and no way out of snares (well bubble, but they aren't going to buble just to get out of a snare. The more I play against them the more I simply ignore them. They take too much time to kill to be worth it, maybe that's their role in BG? to tie up a more important class enemy unit solo for long enough for the rest of his team to accomplish something?

Maybe I'm missing something, but paladins of any spec seem quite ill suited for BG. Maybe it's just the ones I've been playing against, but I confess that when I see a couple pallys on the opposing team, I let out a little cheer inside.

Yes.

They don't need to be instant - see below.

No snares and no way out of snares (well bubble, but they aren't going to buble just to get out of a snare.

You know, there's this funny little ability paladins get called cleanse, which removes snares, dots, poison, stuns, debuffs and a whole host of other stuff. It's instant cast and has a trivial mana cost.

The more I play against them the more I simply ignore them.

That's why their heals don't need to be instant 8)

Heals, cures, stuns, invuls for others, invuls for themselves. Noone can save a healer from rogue gankage like an alert paladin.

Of course the reason for your confusion is pretty simple. A typical fight involving an alliance paladin will generally involve them stunning a warrior for no obvious reason, and then running around after people, spamming consecrate and then using invul and fleeing if anyone hits them.

You just need to find some that know what they are doing - I can assure you you won't be cheering then ;p For gulch they are unbelievably annoying flag carrier escorts.

Aside frmo the fun factor, I'm also amused by the long wait times most Alliance players seem to suffer.
That'll show you what you get for picking the side that already outnumbers the other 2:1 or more :p

I haven't spend anytime in queue because I'm not trying to play in the Battlegrounds yet. Playing in the beta has taught me a few things about this game and the best lesson was not to try any new content for at least two weeks. This gives the developers and community time to work out the bugs and improve game play.

Plus I'm busy ruling the Knights of Nef on Bronzebeard. :)

They are instanced. There will be as many instances created as there are people to fill them. The problem lies in population imbalance. If one faction has significantly more people trying to get in the BGs than the other faction, there isn't anyhting Blizz can do about it.

Well that's better. Populations will hopefully balance out eh?

Since update:
over 23 hours in queue and i've gotten inside BG once (and it was real fun too.)

Just really p!ssed that it takes forever to get in........

I'm not playing it at all, it's a waste of time. Now that all the ganking Alliance jerks are wasting their days in BG, I'm out getting the QUESTING done that I couldn't do before thanks to their pathetic "5 on 1 and 0h-by-the-way-we're-all-at-least-10-levels-higher-than-you-are" typical tactics.

Now that I'm getting to the higher levels, I'm gonna kill Alliance dicks without prejudice, and I don't care if they're level 1 or level 50. Suffice to say, I've been ganked enough to get pissed off.

I have my momments where I question why I like this game so much. But I dropped the priest, it's just not my playing style. I perfer Warriors and rogues much better. But I love grouping with casters, I like to be their savior when things go wrong. :)

My reason for liking instant heals is the ability to keep pace with the flag carrier. Priests and druids can heal (a limited amount) on the run keeping up with the flag carrier. A pally has one or two heals, then he's no longer in range of the carrier. This can really hamper his effectiveness.

Good point about the dispelling though, I think it's superior to a priest dispel in that it dispels more things.

Overall good points, I guess I haven't seen any good paladins, I also play my priest mostly as flag carrier support, and generally don't see opposite faction support characters. The paladin's I've seen on defense are generally not a huge help to their team. They are easy to outrun (fear once and they can't touch you). I've only come up against ONE who would dispel my SW:p, and zero who would dispel my PW:S. I've also never seen a pally bubble anyone else, again though, bad pallys, a disease that seems to plague alliance. Since they have to stop to heal, they open quite a distance between you and them when you get them down to 20-50% and they have to heal themselves, and tehy have no way to catch up and no way to damage you from a distance either. I've just dinged 51, so in a few levels I'll check out the 50+ players. Hopefully they're more organized.

I guess priests and druids have the advantage that they can heal on the run, but pallys have the armor advantage that keeps them safer from melee types and hunters.

Doubtful.
It's not like Blizzard can do anything about it, and I don't see why people would start loving the Horde all of a sudden.

Actually, overall there are more Alliance even on the PvP servers, though not nearly as bad as the PvE servers.

[edit] Overall ratio is 1.2:1 A:H, but even that seems a little odd since looking at the servers individually, there seems to be far more Alliance on nearly every server, and on those where Horde are numerically superior, it's usually by small numbers, and the activity ratio is still tilted towards Alliance.

Check mal'ganis, Horde is nearly 2:1.

1:3.4 in favour of Horde, though with a 1:1.2 activity ratio.
And that's one server, I checked ~10 servers individually, two favoured horde by 1.1:1 and 1.2:1, while one had a 4.8:1 in favour of Alliance, and even on the ones favouring Horde, the activity ratio was still in favour of Alliance.

Yeah I find them odd.
When I went into BG a few days ago, I didn't have to wait a second, just loaded right away, this is on a server with a 1.8:1 A/H ratio, and almost 4:1 activity ratio.
Me being horde.

Tried again last night...

Wait time <1 minute.

2hrs later I still wasn't in. Gave up.

Look, I can't play for more than a few hours at a stretch unless it's on the weekends. Does this simply mean I will never be able to play battlegrounds?

If I want to play BG for an hour it means at least 3-4 hours of my time.

Where did you get that crack? I play on DragonMaw and there are WAY more Alliance than Horde. *Visibly* more.
