Battlefield Vietnam runs choppy online

Just got the game yesterday. Its fun, but runs a whole lots choppier than BF1942 online. I know my machine can easily handle the game, what gives?

Yes and yes, the only thing I dont have yet is the WW2 mod.

What kind of net connection do you have?

I would imagine it has something to do with your connection to the net.

System Specs:

P4 2.8ghz
1gB PC4700 ram
ATI Radeon 9800 pro
SB Audigy 2

My connection is a cable connection, rated at around 1Mbps average. I am getting onto servers where I average between a 60-100 ping, so that should not be the problem. Like I said, I play other online games with little to no problem in the lag area. My ATI video card drivers should be fairly recent, from November at the earliest. I never upgraded my SB drivers from the ones that came with the computer initially (Dell 4600).
