BattleField Problems...please help

My friend is having problems with only BF1942, he has reinstalled many times with no avail. He has a 2500+(retail hs/f), 400w Fortron PSU, A7N8x deluxe, 2x256mb Corsair pc2700, Ti4200, 52x cdrom, and a 20gb HDD...He has all the latest drivers and BattleField loads very slowly for him then crashes when the map is loaded. I have no idea what his problem is, everything is at stock speeds and running SPD, so any help would be appreciated. He has played CS and HL mods, WC3, old UT and old WC2. Those all work fine, so does anyuone have any ideas? thanks.

Wrong forum, but try installing the latest BF1942 patch.

if you are running a VIA chipset, try updating them. i had the same problem until i updated my mobo

Maybe I was thinking it could be a CPU, memory, or PSU problem...Sorry for posting in the wrong forum. He has nothing else to play and BattleField is the only taxing game he has, so I maybe thought that the problems were associated with one of the listed components because it only happens in this game...the only game that he has that really stresses anything.
