Battlefield Bad Company 2

It's on sale right now.

I played Battlefield 3 a while back. Thoroughly enjoyed the SP campaign. MP was...ehhh, so-so. Didn't like it very much.

I hear lots of people like BC2 more. Why?

Also, how good is the Vietnam expansion. It looks like it's MP-only. Honestly, I find these FPS games more interesting as SP-only games, no MP.

I bought BC2 at release and never made it through the campaign, it was too buggy at the time. I got to the end of a mission and the game wouldnt let me go any further, it would crash to desktop. Im sure it has been fixed but I was more interested in the MP anyhow and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Vietnam expansion was great.

Im sure others will disagree but I think BF3 is far better than BC2. The main reason being the added ability to strafe run. I re-downloaded BC2 and played a few games a week or so ago and the player movement was awful, felt like I was stuck in mud.

I only play Battlefield games for the SP experience as well. And I love Bad Company 2. Thanks for this thread, you reminded me to install it and give it another go.

Bad Company 2 is my favorite game of all time. The characters make it so much fun. Haggard has some of the best one-liners.

Plus I found the story interesting and the weapon choices are varied enough that it changes your tactics...giving it replay value.

I think I started the SP campaign on BC2 and made it past the "flashback" intro part. I put in a ton of hours into MP though. They called me Carl Gustav.

I recently went back and played some BFBC2 after playing BF3 for quite a while.
The absence of some of BF3's new features makes it so much easier. Things like suppression, blinding sun/laser/flashlight glare, and even prone, make the gameplay far easier and relaxing.

As for the single player, I think most people are referring to the entertaining banter between your squad mates (NPC's), as what makes BFBC2 better.

If BC2 had strafe running and prone it would be awesome. The rest of the BF3 stuff you mentioned I could live without but I guess Im used to it now and it really doesnt bug me anymore.....except maybe the blinding sun. They really should have polarized sunglasses as a gadget option. LOL
