Battlefield: Bad Company 2

I put in my pre-order a few weeks ago, looking forward to launch day.

Anyone else planning on playing it? The demo was decent, it's nice that they chose a different map than what they had in the beta (Port Valdez vs Arica Harbor). I have played the demo on PS3 and XBOX360 and both are nice.

I think the class balance should be much better when the game comes out, it will hopefully help to cut down on the idiots camping as recon and thinking all they need to do is headshot people.

I do my fair share of recon but if you aren't spotting and throwing out motion sensors then you're not playing your kit properly.

I don't get into these games very tactically at all, I'm the fresh meat that runs and guns. But I'm REALLY looking forward to this game, it'll be my new goto FPS for sure. Already pre-ordered. So much fun when you can have a helicopter dogfight right above your head while you try to dodge tank fire and camp in the bushes as a sniper to pick off guys a km away.

I find sniping VERY rewarding in this game, the addition of needing to aim high as well as hold off on runners is nice.

I've found the demo already to be more enjoyable as a multiplayer fps than MW2. I'll probably be trading in some games for this one...MW2 being one of them.

I am hoping that they will fix the bug where the screen hops around like a rabbit on PCP. Kind of makes it difficult to aim any weapon when your reticle jumps around randomly.

Past that, I am enjoying it, will have to see about the different way to unlock guns, see how I feel about that. The first game had a good system where you didn't even have to suffer through using the bad guns, heck in BC1 I barely played assault at all at first, not until I had unlocked the m16 at least.

I am not going to get it on launch day, I might rent it the first couple of weeks, and then see if the screen jump glitch has been fixed, then I will probably pick it up.

Man, I dont get what is so great about this game. Maybe I need to play the demo again, but it just didn't do anything special for me. MW2 just 'feels' so much better to me.

*shrugs*

I haven't touched MW2 in a few weeks I just got so tired of it. Definitely looking forward to this game, I loved BF:BC.

Aren't they simulating ground shake from nearby explosions? My controller always rumbles when my screen shakes.

I don't know if it is or not. I've had it happen to me, and I see and hear nothing anywhere close to me, but the screen will jump a few times. It is annoying, but not really that bad.

Happens to me but I guess I tend to only notice when i'm playing recon since I a 100% focused on the scope.

With the disappointment that the MAG beta was to me (and yes, I'll still try the full version hopefully in the near future, but the beta was very disappointing), this is the shooter that redeemed it. Last year, I played a total of 250 hours or so of KZ2 online, and that was my shooter for the year. I didn't really play any religiously after that (besides L4D2, but that was the beginning of this year for me), so I'm in need of another, and the beta for this game was awesome. I tried the PC beta, hated it, but the first PS3 beta was more refined than MAG was, which released a month or two earlier than this is supposed to. BF:BC wasn't a game that I really got into- tried the story, didn't really like it, online was hard to get into for me, so I dropped it. I really like the sniping in this game though. The fourth sniper rifle and the open clear scope, and I can kill anything that moves with ease. I have never been a huge sniper, as I'm usually a shotgunner (you can actually sort of snipe with one of the shotguns in this game, lol), but it's either very close or very far away. I love the game.

Yeah I'm pretty sure this is intentional, whenever explosions happen nearby it shakes ur screen.

I don't mind a little screen shake, IIRC the first one had it as well, but the amount of shift on screen is ridiculous. 'Miss the bad guy and hit a flock of birds' ridiculous.

I like most everything else from the demo, but the damn screen jump is driving me nuts, because it also isn't just once, it is like 5 or 6 times in a row, so I will have to de-scope and sort of sit there until it passes.

Also, comparing the PC version to the PS3 version, I am not sure how I feel about the fact that in the PC version the defenders cannot go as far up the attackers' starting hill (the one were a bunch of people snipe from, you parachute in it is right in front of you) as they can on the console.

I had a great round the other day. I scored 9550. With the 7000 point bonus I ended up with a score of 16550. I was playing as medic and my squad mates were actually helping me to defend the crates. I had 8000 points before the first set of crates were destroyed.

Man, you want points? Rock the medic. Heal and revive is where the points are at, especially with the 5000 point bonuses for just doing your freaking job.

I meant the PC version. Aside from some bugs it was nearly perfect. BFBC2 on consoles are what 16 players, 32 on PC? After playing MAG and BF2 on PC, 64 players is the minimum. I was looking on justin.tv at some guys playing the BFBC2 demo, and man...I really miss the way they did classes and weapons unlocks. The medic and his defib paddles, that can also kill! The engineer with his new impact wrench is pretty cool too. Special Forces with his C4 blowing up tanks and stuff. If they increase the max num of players I'll definitely check it out.

Im still trying to decide between preordering this or picking up BioShock 2 or AvP. I tried the demo but it didnt really do anything for me. I thought it was ok but felt that MW2 was more fun.

Hopefully this won't be the case on the full game, but I'm already tired of getting put on teams where everyone is a goddamn sniper. Jesus people, we're not gonna win if 70% of the team is sittin' in the fucking trees.

I've found that people tend to go sniper when there aren't enough medics to go around. Or they're just being stubborn.

I played this game a little more and am kind of liking it now. But, it seems like a game that I would rather have on PC.

Is there anyway to prone or can you only crouch?
