Battlefield 4 to run @ 720p on PS4/NeXbox.

Considering that they didn't get the engine name right I'm not really confident on rest of the information either. (It's Frostbite 3, they only use integers on naming.)

don't care about bf4 personally, but it's hard to believe a rumor from a site that i've never heard of when they have some basic facts wrong (like mentioned above), especially when this post is 2 weeks old and none of the major sites have reported it.

im not even sure DICE has confirmed it on the next gen yet

as of right now its just PC/360/PS3 coming this fall

Of course, they are making sure its cross platform so they can sell it twice: once on current gen and again immediately as a launch title next gen. Of course it has to be lowest common denominator which is current gen.

At least it has the big maps and player counts of the PC I suppose, but I agree, that would be kind of disappointing to run at that res even if it is 60fps. But I'm not waiting another two years after that for BF5, so I'll probably get it day one on the next gen anyways. sigh

I think the Xbox360 / PS3 version will probably be 720p @ 60fps, but the next gen will be 1080p @ 60. The new consoles are much more powerful (or should be in the case of the Xbox over 9000).

Just like BF2, they are going to have current gen and next gen versions. BF2 was released on the Xbox, Xbox360, PS2, and PC.

there is no way for current gen to support a larger player count, they systems cant handle it. BF4 on the PS3/360 will be limited in player count again - which is why i wont buy it

That's why its mainly a PC game to me, I will probably not buy bf4 though.

Yea, im going PC for it this time. However if it comes out on the PS4 and is the same as the PC version (64 player servers and such) i will prob pick it up to play with friends. as none of them own a gaming PC

That's what I meant, sorry, nextgen will have the PC features. That'd be the only one I'd consider.
Sadly, even though I'm still enjoying whats left on current gen, I don't even consider current gen a viable platform for me to buy games on anymore.

Ps3 xbox 360 versions wont be 720p @ 60fps

Huh? You think DICE is magically going to find some new secret way to double the frame rate on consoles? BF3 barely held 30-fps. There's no way BF4 is going to hit 60.
