I am mostly surprised that DICE is giving it a shot. I am pretty sure they wouldnt have made a big deal if the improvements were minimal. As far as AMD goes, I am pretty excited for their new cards.

Would you be any less tickled if Nvidia was the one behind it?
The brand of hardware in my PC doesn't effect my happiness like some people. If Nvidia did this and it worked well, I would just go buy an Nvidia GPU again. I've had a bunch of them already.

Well personally, I think they will get a lot of negative feedback for overhyping the benefits unless it is at least in the range of 20%. I know I would feel that way if it is only 10 to 15 percent.

But honestly, I have not idea how much benefit it will bring.

My thinking is more like if it is so easy to get 20% more performance with a custom API that cost 8 Mio, it would have been tried a long time ago. If it is only 5%, well then it's not really worth it. So something like 12% seems reasonable. Isn't the general guideline that you don't notice any improvements below 10%? So you do see it works and it looks nice in benchmarks. This 10% can be the difference of being faster or slower than the titan in frostbite 3 games.
