They are trying to create a new type of military shooting game even as the genre confronts technological, narrative and public relations hurdles. If they fail, video games will be that much closer to extinction.

LOL, what a load a crap. Of course, it is the NYT so what else should we expect? Didn't read any more of the article, I can't imagine it would be time well spent.

That quote stuck out to me as well.

The rest of the article was meh - big budget vs "a couple of guys in their garages kicking out a game in weeks".

I just look at GTA5 and the amount of money it made in just one weekend. I roll my eyes at the end of video games.
