I love it and hate it. I got it for 35 dl through EA right around xmas. Crashes regularly. But if you get on a good server it rocks. I wish I could get the expansion cheap.

I don't get the Origin hate. Have had no issues, been playing the game since launch day and I actually LIKE the web-based Battlelog interface. Guess that places me in the minority.

What I don't actually like about Origin is the pricing. Pretty much every game sold on Origin, I can get for cheaper at an online retailer in the form of a physical disk (with free shipping). At least Steam has great sales every couple of weeks and Daily Specials and stuff - haven't seen any of those on Origin.

Edit: LOL, just checked the Origin Store and it looks like they have a New Year's sale. A couple of games are about 40% off but mostly older stuff - FIFA 12, NFS Hot Pursuit/Shift 2, The Sims Medieval etc. FIFA 12 is probably one that interests me. The NFS games have been price-cut in retail for a long time now.

I don't know anything about Facebook software and I've been playing BF3 since day one.

The only game that I've seen recently with Social Network integration is Tropico 4 - where as you unlock achievements, you can have them post updates to your Facebook/Twitter. Also Dirt 3 had a feature where you could upload a replay to Youtube. These are all optional features and I can see value in them. People make a huge ruckus over nothing these days.
