Anyone know if BF2142 is going to be dual core supporting? or is there even a point to me getting a Dual core 4800 VS just getting a AMD Athlon 4000+

I doubt it will take much advantage of dual core, the graphics don't even look that great. I'm not entirly sure but i heard its using the same engine as battlefield 2. they should have just made it a mod for bf2..the x2 5000 should be out when 2142 . . IMHO single core is still better for gaming though, if you look at the benchmarks

That was my understanding, I'll go look for a current roadmap.

ya they are not building anymore 939s other then the ones that are already out. so thats why im asking what i should do. Im not upgrading until AM3 and even then probably a year into it. i just dont have the cash to throw around so im thinking of the Athlon 64 4000+ or the 4800+ X2 im not sure though. depending on whats better for gaming since all i do is game.

Dualy it is... but why? lol so far the only games i know are dual core is oblivion and i know i dont have a hope in hell of running that on full settings anyway since Dual X1900 XTXs cant.(neither can the 7900s if theres any fanboys reading this lol)
