Does for me.. man my pc locks up for a good 10 seconds.. I have the xact specs as that guy: 6800GT ==2GBRAM ==4200X2 Dual Core ==300GBHDD

video card issue? my ping doesnt spike so i know it isnt internet lag

i "downgraded" gfx settings to medium 🙁 🙁 🙁 ... 6800GT with my specs.. is the 6800GT already that old?!!!!

Try maximizing every setting but using medium lighting or medium textures, empty your cache, and restart. The same issue happened with the BF2 demo and BF2 when it was first released.

It doesnt do that for me with a 7900GT XXX edition its smooth as heck.. only time I lag is when the server seems to lag... seems like when the 2 titans get close to each other the server starts to chug..

only 2 disconnects last night outa a 3 hour play period... 1 fight in the titan was amazing defendign the reactor with a support guy I racked up 80 points was fun as hell repelling the boarders..

Empty my cache? I know of Temp. Int. Files.. but..um.. Cache? How can I delete that?

My Documents\Battlefield 2142 Demo\mods\BF2142\cache

This folder and it's contents are created when you see "optimizing shaders" when you first launch the game. Sometimes things get screwy with it and deleting it forces the game to recreate it.

1. I cant tell whose on my team, both models look similar to me.
2. Where is the widescreen support, need 1680*1050.

I get fps often in the 20's with med-low settings with an X800XL at 1280x1024. This is the only game that performs so badly.

ran medium all the way with 2xAA on my 6600GT. got around 40fps+.

i think i may be sticking with bf2.

I like it better than BF2. 2142 runs better on my machine than BF2 for some reason. 1GB is working fine for me.

yea i think they made the engine more efficient.

never played BF2, but i recently installed an old copy of BF 1942 that i've had for years but never played

i was waiting on the 2142 demo and once i played it, i swear it's BF 1942 with better graphics. the tank driving is still horrible as well as firing the tank gun.

i am on vacation in CA and last night drove past the EA building, they are adding a nice addition.....looks like it is costing them a lot of $$$$$. i guess i know where their priorities are :thumbsdown:

Well, they *are* a company.

I'm going to wait and see what the full version of BF2142 looks like. The demo is really, really sad.

1. Yep.....they need to be targeted unfortunately. I've been killed way too many times because of this.

2. Someone in the WS Gaming forum has posted a simple executable extension for your desktop shortcut that seems to work fine. I'm not clear what that does with FOV though.

Man I suck so much at this game that even though I think it's fun and runs well on my rig, I'm getting tired of respawning. I think I'll pass on this or wait for a drastic reduction in the basic price.
