I have cod Vanguard and I enjoy the short campaign but I also had some fun in the multiplayer. It's way too fast paced for my liking and some of the maps are cool but again I feel like they are too small for how chaotic the gameplay gets.

It's much faster than modern warfare 2019 and I already thought that one was quick. But cod is only fun for a few brainless shooter matches and nothing else, at least unlocking the weapon mods makes the weapons more fun to use.

Unfortunately all the devs that previously worked on the other battlefield titles have left DICE.

I also watch JackFrags but I remember during the open beta he was criticizing the game heavily. Suddenly now he must have gotten paid by EA and I'm sure most content creators and YouTube streamers are, because he was praising it so highly in his streams the past few days, talking about "look at all this destruction" when we know it's nothing like what the destruction physics were before.
He wasn't praising hazard zone what I saw, but it just looked fun. I watched like 10 min

Played a couple hours last night. I hate the UI it's horrible to navigate and see what actually is selected.

I mostly played portal rush mode and some bad company 2 game modes. Those aren't bad, but the main game itself has a lot of bugs in warfare and breakthrough.

Vehicles appearing in air, parts of tanks just floating around. One thing I notice is the hit detection is trash. It's like I have to be extremely lucky with my shots. I'm also facing this weird zoom issue where if you try to modify your attachment in game it gets stuck in this zoom effect.

I think the hazard zone could be a lot of fun if the game had voice chat. It's pretty boring if no one works together. I died once and no one allowed me to deploy again for the rest of the match so I was stuck there watching until the end.

As I said in the open beta, not a big fan of the specialists in the game. Pretty much everyone now uses the M5A3.

Saw this with New World and lost a lot of respect for the majority of streamers.

Think of Hazard Zone as battle Royale with a squad and objective. You only get one life but can be rezed. I tried it once and my squad was mowed down in the first engagement by a squad with a vehicle. Tough to fight when the default layout doesn't include a RPG.

I don't find it to appealing when you are playing with random people, no voice chat and the long load/spawn times. Really not worth blowing 15+ minutes in hopes that you actually get somewhere.

I've been hearing that the pp29 gun has better range than the assault rifles. You have to be level 18 to get it which at this rate is kind of a slog for me.

All these giant maps I'm constantly getting sniped because I can't fight at long range with an assault rifle along with the bullet spread/crap hit detection. It's like RNG if your bullets will hit someone sometimes, if you are more than 15-20 meters away.

I usually end up trying to find a bad company 2 or bf3 game mode in portal instead. I wish they had included bf4 in the portal as that one was the best I thought.

Pretty disappointed in the game again, and myself, after wasting money on BF1, V, and now 2042. It doesn't even feel like BF anymore really. More like Apex Legends or some other battle royale masquerading as battlefield.

What I'd give for a straight BF2 remaster.

I'm just waiting for voice chat before I even launch hazard zone at this point. Haven't yet.

I'm just going to play Halo and a bit of Apex until they patch this game more.

I think they spent too much time on monetization stuff vs actually making the game.

EA sucks.

I've been getting by via Portal. That's pretty much the only good thing about this title right now.

I'm getting Halo infinite for the campaign when it comes out. Been a really long time since I played Halo, original Xbox matter of fact.

They got greedy with Halo too. The multiplayer is fun at least, but still needs more variety. The campaign sounds like it's going to be really good, but co-op and forge are delayed and now pushed back even more.

The BP progression was a joke, and the cosmetics are overpriced. If they didn't put as much time into monetization there I bet we'd have co-op at launch.

Nothing better than a good coop campaign to myself and a lot of other gamers. But at least it seems a good bit more polished than BF.

in regards to voice chat, you obviously cannot have chat with 130 people. i understand why they removed it.

aside frim that, what i have seen of gameplay glitches absolutely killed all interest for me; clipping, out of bounds and zero hitreg are just things im not willing to put up with in a shooter.

Nobody wants voice chat with 130 people. You want voice chat with your squad. How are you supposed to play a game which needs squad based teamwork if you can't talk to your squad, like every other BF in recent history?

It's not a minor oversight, it's obscene.

I thought I read somewhere that they are working on adding voice chat in the game at some point. Agree that it's pretty fundamental to gameplay, even if they are copying elements of call of duty, well that game has a working voice chat!

Right now the biggest issue I see is the gunplay is not consistent at all. Hit registration and bullet spread is very inconsistent per weapon. I'm not sure this also goes for Portal game modes too but I definitely saw it happen in the regular game modes of conquest or breakthrough.

Try out Breakthrough instead of Conquest. With the focused battles, it was much more engaging.

I just launched this game for the first time today ever, waited after the latest patch. I agree, the specialists are stupid as designed. Everyone can have an ammo crate? A sniper and medic can resupply themselves? That's ridiculous. If you want to have specialists so you can sell more cosmetics, I mean fine, make specialists with balanced and chill little perks, but limit their loadouts to their specialty. Support specialists should be the only ones with ammo crates, etc... Snipers shouldn't have rocket launchers, etc... I hope they change that.

The maps are too big in conquest. I'm gonna play some other modes.

Sadly specialists aren't going anywhere and the gadgets they carry won't change either. It's what I've been saying since the beta.

The latest patch also broke horizontal movement of the mouse lol.

Lately I have been reading a tweet from EA where they are trying to prevent Dice employees from leaving and they are restructuring who is in charge of the game now.

They put the guy that was in charge of warzone in charge of battlefield now. Rather than fix the game and make it like the franchise used to be they are just going to build on top of it, possibly making it like the yearly cod game cycle.

They can still adjust specialists to only carry loadouts relative to their class. I don't think specialists are bad, just bad that any specialist can carry any class's stuff.

I was telling my buddy about it and he says Jack frags is leveling the same criticisms.

But they are probably too stupid to change shit.

Yea I don't think they will adjust anything like that. There's a lot of fundamental things that need to be reworked.

The maps are too big and wide open, 128 players don't work and because there's more players, more server load, more bugs that are available.

The maps also have no cover and you end up spawning in the middle of the empty areas to be farm killed by vehicles or snipers.

JackFrags played the game a long time before it launched and I don't think he criticized it as much at the time. He did for a little bit in his live streams but not everyone watches those.

He did recently start talking about it more when people called him out on it.

Try out the 2042 rush mode they put up I think in portal. I'm still downloading the update #3 now and then I have to modify the config file because the mouse movement broke last I read the reports, unless they issued some hotfix recently.

Being older players I think we're more likely to prefer things we're comfortable with. It looks like EA is now trying to grab the Fortnite crowd. I think we'll see older players retreating from the series and younger players adopt it. We'll see if that strategy is viable and if EA can attract enough new players while it losses it's core fans.

Making overly huge maps in conquest ain't that at all where getting to the action can take forever. At all.

Breakthrough is too crazy busy. I guess I can see where the younguns might like that.

Some rush 2042 is quite fun though. Nice balance of fast paced but you can still be textual and strategic.

300 and 400+ hours in BF2 and BF4.

2042 lasted 10 before I hit uninstall. Wish I could get a refund.
After reaching a peak of 100k players online it has already dropped to only 30k players online (according to Paul’s Hardware). Pretty bad for a BF game IMHO.

It should be stated that's for Steam only. It was also sold on Origin and Epic. Also there's the consoles. I'm still hold a bit of hope that when the new season starts next year, they work out the bigger issues but I realize some things are baked into the core of the game.
